Madison, Wis. - John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Larry Bailey, 38, La Crosse, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb to one year and one day in prison for distribution of methamphetamine. Bailey pleaded guilty to this charge on April 25, 2011.

On September 18 and September 23, 2010, Bailey distributed methamphetamine to an informant working under the direction of law enforcement. Bailey was arrested on September 29, 2010, after taking delivery of 12 boxes of pseudoephedrine from another police informant with the intent that the pseudoephedrine pills would be used to manufacture methamphetamine at a supper club in Vernon County, Wis.

The charges against Bailey was the result of an investigation conducted by the Vernon County Sheriff's Department, La Crosse County Sheriff's Department, and Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul W. Connell.
